  1. Can I receive a refund on my gift certificate?

    Please be advised that all gift certificates for our Spa and Hotel are non refundable.

  2. Where exactly are you located?

    Monastery Spa & Suites is located at 63 Patrick Street in St. John's, NL.

  3. What are your hours of operation?

    Sunday: 9am-5pm
    Monday: 9am-5pm
    Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 9am-9pm
    Saturday: 9am-5pm

    There is someone at the Suites front desk 24 hours a day to assist you by phone or in person.

  4. Is there parking available?

    Yes, there is free parking available.

  5. Do you have services available for men?

    We have services available for both men and women.

  6. What should I bring with me when I visit the Spa?

    We encourage casual clothing. We provide you with locked lockers and have chosen luxurious robes and sandals for your comfort during each spa visit.

    For body wraps for men we encourage the wearing of bathing suits.

  7. Is there storage for my valuables?

    Yes. We do provide locked lockers, but we suggest you leave all valuables at home or locked in your hotel's safe.

  8. How far in advance should I book my appointment to ensure the time and day I want?

    We cannot guarantee a set time and day for you. Please contact us at your earliest convenience to avoid disappointment.

  9. How much notice do you require if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

    Treatment times and services you select are reserved especially for you; please notify us at least 24 hours in advance (48 hours for packages), if you must cancel.

    Without proper notice, a cancellation fee of up to 50% will be charged.

  10. How far in advance should I arrive before my appointment?

    Your spa experience begins at least 15 minutes before the start of any Spa treatment. You are welcome to arrive earlier and enjoy our relaxing lounge areas.

  11. If I'm in a hurry, can I combine my services?

    We will attempt to accommodate your schedule pending availability of resources.

  12. Do you have a smoking area?

    No. Monastery Spa & Suites is a smoke free building.

  13. If I would like to leave a gratuity for my service person, how do I do so?

    Gratuities can be directed to your service person upon checking out at the reception desk. The amount of the gratuity is at the client's discretion.

  14. I'll be visiting the Spa with a friend. Can we sit together for our manicure and pedicure?

    When you make your appointment, please ask for particular seating arrangements. We will make every effort to accommodate your request, but please understand that it is not always possible; space and scheduling limitations can sometimes restrict seating availability.

  15. Are my massage services covered by the Provincial Health Plan?

    No, but they are covered by individual Health Insurance Plans. Consult your own health insurance plan for details. We have Registered Massage Therapists on staff, please indicate at time of booking if your massage appointment is for health insurance purposes.

  16. Before which Spa services should I shower?

    You should shower before all body therapies, including massage.

  17. What do I wear for my massage?

    We will never compromise your modesty. You will be given a robe and/or a wrap to change into before your treatment. What you wear under it is up to you. Our therapists will only expose the portion of the body that is being treated at the time.

  18. Are there any Spa services I should not receive due to certain health conditions?

    Yes. It is recommended that any known allergies or conditions at the time of booking be addressed to our staff so they may determine what would be the best treatment in that circumstance. Women who are pregnant may wish to avoid services that are heat-stimulating. Please check with your doctor.  If using our Vitality room, please check with a spa representative to ensure the use of this area will not be a contra indicator.

  19. How long should my hair be for waxing to be effective?

    Your hair should be 1/8 to 1/4 inches long, depending on the thickness of the hair.

  20. I have artificial nails. Can I still have a manicure?

    Of course, a manicure improves on all parts of the hand, not just the nails.
